I can’t be an expert in ALL things Breast Implant Illness. My personal focus tends to be on healing post-explant. Please use the additional resources on this page to gather more information with regards to making decisions revolving around Breast Implant Illness and your journey. I hope you find this information useful and if there is anything you would like to see added, please comment below. I will continue to add to this page as I am able to. Thank you!

Recommended Explant Surgeons

These 7 surgeons listed below do explants on a regular basis, believe in Breast Implant Illness, have the most experience with explant surgery, are very skilled, and are committed to en block when possible and complete capsulectomy. They are very reputable among the breast implant illness groups. I personally would only recommend a surgeon from this top 6 list, but I understand that this is not always possible for everyone. You will find additional surgeons listed by state HERE who are also quite reputable. This list was created from countless testimonials from women who have explanted. When choosing an explant surgeon, it is ultimately important to chose someone who you feel comfortable with, who you connect with, and who is committed to performing en block and complete capsulectomy for the best health outcome. I recommend seeking testimonials from women in the various Facebook groups in addition to having consultations with several surgeons until you find the right fit for you. The worst thing you can do is make a rash decision out of panic once you have discovered BII. “Just getting them out” is not ideal nor is it recommended. Please take your time in finding the right surgeon for you.

Dr. Amanda Savage Brown is a torchbearer for women navigating the psychosocial impacts of breast implants. She draws from her diverse background in women’s health that began while earning a PhD in genetics, continued as an officer in the United States Public Health Service, and flourished as a clinical psychotherapist. She uses only evidence-based approaches to help women reclaim their lives through mindful self-acceptance and values-guided change. In 2018, Dr. Savage Brown’s personal life and professional expertise aligned as she moved through her breast implant removal journey, recovered from disabling pain she didn’t realize was related to her body’s response to breast implants, and witnessed countless women struggling with the deeply felt, yet poorly supported, mental, emotional, and social aspects of breast implant removal. To address the unmet psychosocial needs for women whose lives are touched by breast implants, Dr. Savage Brown created Breast Implant Through Explant (BRITE™) Inner Healing. It provides a skills-based approach for women to bring their whole self forward while coming to terms with getting more than they bargained for from breast implants, choosing to replace or remove them, and adjusting to their post-explant chest. It’s the foundation for her forthcoming self-help book, Busting Free, anticipated summer 2022.

FDA Reporting System

If you have symptoms of Breast Implant Illness, please report all adverse reactions to the FDA. These reactions can be reported to the FDA through the MedWatch Online Voluntary Reporting Form.

Medical device reports submitted to the FDA can be found in the Manufacturer and User Device Experience (MAUDE) database.

FDA Meeting on March 25 and 26, 2019: The [Medical Devices Advisory] committee will discuss and make recommendations regarding the benefits and risks of breast implants indicated for breast augmentation and reconstruction. For this reason, it is important that you report adverse reactions prior to this meeting if at all possible. If not possible, it is still important to report.

Documentaries/Videos

The videos I post here now and in the future may be about breast implants or other educational videos I find invaluable to educating you about toxicity and lifestyle, etc. As more videos become available or discovered, I’ll be updating this list.

EWG’s Video “10 Americans”: Watch EWG president Ken Cook share shocking information about how babies are born pre-polluted with as many as 300 industrial chemicals in their bodies. One of the most entertaining and sobering presentations that you’ll see about the health effects of environmental pollution. It’s not just the breast implants ladies, but this also shows why tiny doses of toxins matter. https://www.ewg.org/news/videos/10-americans

Sarah Phillipe

Founder Reversing Breast Implant Illness. Sarah has a passion for restoring health that has taken her along a path from a practicing RN, to walking away from her conventional nursing career to become a certified Functional Diagnostic Nutrition® Practitioner, and Breast Implant Illness and Detox Expert. She believes the solution to Reversing Breast Implant illness is about more than just the explant and that we all need to take personal responsibility for restoring our health by addressing the root causes that contribute to chronic illness: toxicity, infections, trauma, and shame. Sarah’s “pain to purpose” is using her personal experience along with her understanding about the body to guide women through the sea of mis-information about Breast Implant Illness in hopes of finding their path to true and lasting healing.

Sarah was once quite happy and comfortable living the conventional life, but she began to look at things very differently when her body started failing her after getting breast implants. Within about six months of getting breast implants, Sarah began to see her once perfect health steadily decline. She began experiencing a myriad of symptoms which no doctor could explain. No one understood what Sarah was going through. She felt completely alone in this invisible illness because on the outside she looked fine. On the inside, the discomfort of living inside her own body was maddening.

Sarah soon realized she was looking in the wrong places, for the wrong things. If she wanted to fix her broken body, she had to stop looking to treat the symptoms; she had to start looking for a cause. It was time to take her health into her own hands and find real answers. She discovered that the root cause was literally inside of her.

Sarah believes there is always a greater purpose within our struggles, and she believes that purpose for her was to learn how to heal her own body so she could then help other women like her do the same. It is Sarah’s believe that the body has an innate desire to heal if given what it needs and she focuses on teaching natural healing principles. Sarah will teach you how to Reverse Breast Implant Illness, take back your health, and live vibrantly!
